protecting wolves from HB 845.
Wolves are a Species that literally assists with the balance of Mother Nature, Herself. Wolves heal the landscapes by keeping Deer numbers down (as well as sick and injured animals- which helps feed Scavenger Species like Ravens + Crows), so that Native Plants, Trees, and Flowers can REGROW after being destroyed by large Deer populations, which in turn, balances the ecosystem and brings BACK Native Species, like River Otters, an array of Bird Species, which actually help the Rivers flow. This happened in 1995, when Yellowstone National Park released 14 Wolves into the landscape. Nobody ever imagined that the Land, the Rivers, the Greenery would be restored. But, miraculously, they were restored and within years, an ENTIRE Ecosystem was healed.
The Wolves helped OTHER species, like Otters, start to thrive again. Bird populations that were starting to dwindle, starting building population numbers again. Eagles and Hawks, which were almost ERADICATED in the 1900's due to pesticides decimating the Eagles and Hawks ability to produce healthy eggs. Now Eagles and Hawks thrive in Yellowstone, once again. Nature is ALL connected. When ONE SPECIES suffers it has a knock off effect and harms ALL Species.
Representative Lauren Boebert (who represents Colorado), introduced Bill HR 845, which proposes to DE-LIST Wolves from the Endangered Species Act. This is an atrocity for this Land and the balance of our Ecosystems. The State of Colorado voted OVERWHELMINGLY to PROTECT WOLVES. That's why Lauren Boebert is now attempting to abuse her "Congressional Power" and manipulate the Will of the People, Federally. This is a cruel attempt to eradicate Wolves on behalf of a FEW Ranchers that have EVERY OPTION to build protective fencing and housing for Livestock, as well as having all the options to live in harmony WITH Wolves. Protecting Livestock from Wolves, and taking preventative measures is LITERALLY a part of the job of being a Rancher... But, per usual, "quick and easy" solutions are being favored for the few, at the cost of the wellbeing of the Land itself, which will negatively affect this Land for generations. If we eradicate Wolves, we eradicate the balance of our Ecosystems. Period.
